April 17, 2025. President Trump signed a historic Executive Order benefitting our people in American Samoa by removing restrictions which were arbitrarily placed by previous Administrations that severely affected the economy of American Samoa which relied heavily on fishing as its main source of revenue. This Executive Order was signed in the Oval Office by President Trump while surrounded by American Samoan officials including Congresswoman Amata Aumua.

April 16, 2025. Pago Pago is the Champion of the American Samoa Fautasi Regatta for 2025. In a close finish race the Pago Pago crew came away with the win as they streaked past the Paepaeulupoo of Aua. The entire video of the race is in our Sports section. Please watch it and enjoy the drama of this very closely contested race.
There were 7 boats in the final race, but they were all very competitive and the outcome was not secure until the final 100 yards of the race. A thrilling race to the finish.
